Site Background
Environmental Works, Inc. (EWI) conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) of the property located at 1111 E. Locust Street in northeast Springfield, Missouri. The 0.23-acre subject property has been utilized as a residential property since approximately 1888. The use of the subject property is unknown prior to this time.
Findings
Suspect asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) observed at the Site include ceiling texture, wall texture and vinyl sheet flooring. Sampling and analysis of these materials would be necessary in order to determine their asbestos content, if any.
The following recognized environmental condition (REC) was identified for the subject property:
The adjoining property to the northwest was utilized as a filling station from 1927 through the early 1940s. This facility does not appear in the Missouri Petroleum Storage Tank Insurance Fund Database or the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Tank Databases. This is an REC due to the lack of information regarding the tanks at this property.
