Neighborhood Service Areas

 

Neighborhood Watch

The Neighborhood Registry has been organized to identify Neighborhood Service Areas and the Registered Neighborhood Organization(s) that exist within each area.  Each Neighborhood Service Area is based on the criteria established in the Neighborhoods Element which defines a neighborhood as “one being approximately one square mile in size…..with major geographic boundaries such as arterial roads, major streams, railroads or major non-residential areas that are supported by a mixture of housing types, retail services and parks/open space within walking distance of the residential areas that contain 3,000 to 6,000 residents”. 

Neighborhood organization(s) that include approximately one-half of the land area included in the service area, has elected officers, adopted by-laws, etc. and that are registered with the City shall be considered a Registered Neighborhood Organization.  Each Registered Neighborhood Organizations is included in the registry along with its applicable Neighborhood Service Area.

Doling Neighborhood Association
Cit Council Zone: 1,2 (see map)

General boundaries: Interstate 44 on the north; National Avenue on the east; Kearney Street on the south; and Kansas Expressway on the west.

Fassnight Neighborhood Association
City Council Zone: 2 (see map)

General boundaries: Grand Street on the north; Campbell Avenue on the east; Sunshine Street on the south; and Kansas Expressway on the west.

Grant Beach Neighborhood Association Visit website

General boundaries: Railroad tracks north of Commercial Street and Divsiion Street on north; Boonville Avenue on east; Chestnut Expressway on south; and Kansas Expressway on the west.

Heart of the Westside

Mid-town Neighborhood Association
City Council Zone: 1 (see map)

General boundaries: Blaine Street on north; National Avenue and Burlington-Northern railroad tracks on east; Chestnut Expressway on south; and Boonville Avenue on west.

Oak Grove Neighborhood Association
City Council Zone: 2 (see map)

General boundaries: Grand Street on the north; Ingram Mill Road on the east, Sunshine Street on the south; and Glenstone Avenue on the west.
