    A Texas County man who was bitten by a bat about six weeks ago has died from a case of rabies. It is the first human rabies death in Missouri since 1959, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The 55-year old man was bitten on the left ear by a bat in mid-October, but did not report the incident or exhibit any rabies symptoms at the time, the department said.  12/01/08
