For those who are ready to quit, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department offers a 7-week course that empowers them to quit smoking, gain control over their behavior and maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Freedom from Smoking® is a program of the American Lung Association, and has been used successfully since 1981 to help hundreds of thousands of people quit smoking. It is based on guidance and standards set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS).
