Animal Control - Disclaimer

Photos of cats and dogs currently being held at the Springfield Animal Shelter are updated Monday through Friday, except on holidays. If you do not see a dog or a cat you believe may be at the shelter, visit the shelter during operational hours to view the animal.

Shelter fees are required at time of pickup. Payment can be in cash, with debit card or with credit card. No coins, please. Applicable tickets will be issued at time of pickup.

Animals may be claimed by visiting the Animal Shelter, located at 4002 North Farmer Avenue in Springfield, during the following times.

Monday through Friday - 8:30am-9:30am (call the shelter at 417-833-3592), Noon-1:00pm (in person visits only), 4:00pm-5:00pm (call the shelter at 417-833-3592)

Saturday, Sunday and holidays - 8:30am-9:30am (call the shelter at 833-3592), 3:30pm-4:30pm (call the shelter at 417-833-3592)

Rescue groups interested in participating in the Animal Shelter Rescue Program should review the the Animal Rescue Procedures for more information. Agencies that meet the qualifications may apply by calling 417-864-1663.
