Adults
The following vaccines are also available for adults:
- Hepatitis A
Hepatitis A is a viral infection that is spread through an oral-fecal route. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recognize food handlers as an important part of disease prevention due to their role in common-source foodborne hepatitis A transmission.
Hepatitis A vaccine is available in a two-dose series with six months between doses. Studies indicate a person is fully protected against hepatitis A after completing the vaccination series.
Hepatitis A vaccinations are available at the Westside Public Health Center, located at 660 South Scenic Avenue in Springfield. The cost is approximately $25.00 per dose. Please call 417-874-1220 for more information or to make an appointment.
