Veteran Services

Serving Those Who Serve
The Ozark Region is proud to serve those who have served our Country. Workforce Development Specialists are available to assist our service men and service women with finding suitable employment or in obtaining training needed to find employment. Additionally, our Business Services Representatives actively work with area businesses to hire veterans.

Veterans Representatives are also available to meet with veterans with significant barriers to employment.

Veterans' Priority
Public Law 107-288 requires Veterans' priority in all programs funded wholly or in part by the Department of Labor. To be eligible for priority of service Veterans, and covered persons, must meet all other program eligibility requirements.

Customers are given the opportunity to self identify themselves as a veteran when they enter the Career Center. All first visitors to the Career Center meet with a Workforce Development Specialist to review Career Center Services and an initial assessment as to their needs. If during this assessment, or at any other time during the intake process, a customer is identified at being a veteran or a covered person they are provided printed material detailing their eligibility for "priority of service

Show-Me Heroes
In 2010, the Governor initiated "Show Me Heroes", a campaign that encourages employers to hire veterans. With this program, employers are asked to sign a pledge that they will consider hiring a veteran if a position becomes available at their business. Business Service Representatives continue to make contact with area business to promote and explain the program. For more information, visit
