Affordable Housing Vacancies

Project CoRE (construction, rehabilitation, education) partners have teamed up to remodel and construct affordable and sustainable single-family residences located at N. Sherman Avenue in Springfield, MO. Under the direction of these partners, at-risk young men from the Division of Youth Services will participate in remodeling and constructing the residences.

The residences are to be:
  • affordable.
  • sustainable.
  • compatible with Sherman Avenue area homes.
  • constructed primarily by the students with professional supervision, along with supervision of All Square Construction and local contractors.
Project CoRE provides at-risk young men the opportunity to learn hands-on construction skills, remodeling skills and new "green" construction techniques – all skills that can help them succeed in life.

With a hands-on approach, the young men learn as they remodel and build energy-efficient, sustainable homes. They also receive the satisfaction of seeing their finished project. We believe future employers will see these young men with experience in construction as desirable employees.
