The Greater Springfield Race & Faith Collaborative, a group started by the City of Springfield, the Center for Diversity and Reconciliation, Missouri State University's Division for Diversity & Inclusion and the Council of Churches of the Ozarks, is working to create city-wide conversations on diversity.

Participants in the group represent a variety of faith and community organizations.

In August of 2013, Springfield came together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, kicking off a year of activities to carry our community into the next wave of the conversation and awareness about race and faith issues.
