Children's Art Classes

CLasses will be canceled if public schools are closed.

 

Children's classes will begin Saturday April 6.

PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE, SESSIONS ARE NOW FIVE WEEKS*
AND WILL RUN CONSECUTIVELY. SESSION TIMES LISTED BELOW.
ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CHILDREN'S CLASSES ARE ONE HOUR.

ALL POTTERY CLASSES REQUIRE STUDENTS TO SIGN UP FOR BOTH SESSIONS
(IN ORDER TO COMPLETE ALL PROJECTS)

WE ARE NOW OFFERING "DROP -IN" DAYS FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT COMMIT
TO FIVE WEEKS. ONE CHILDRENS CLASS (ONE HOUR/PROJECT) WILL BE $10.00
CLASS PROJECTS ARE LISTED BELOW AS FIVE WEEK SESSIONS.

After we receive your registration form, we will send you additional contact,
and medical information form to complete so we can help you if anything
happens to you, or your child, or if you may have any have special needs.
We will not be able to confirm your registration without this information.

SESSION I WILL BEGIN SATURDAY APRIL 6 AND RUN THROUGH THURSDAY MAY 9th
SESSION II WILL BEGIN SATURDAY MAY 11 AND RUN THROUGH THURSDAY JUNE 13

REGISTRATION FOR CLASSES WILL BEGIN TUESDAY FEBRUARY 26 AND RUN UNTIL
CLASSES ARE FILLED.

SESSIONS ARE DESIGNED TO BE COMPLIMENTARY; NOT REPETITIVE.

 

 

 

sATURDAYs: art exploration (though classes are designed to be specific
to each grade level, they will be the same project.

 

WEEK ONE: Project: COLOR WHEEL: students will explore the world of the color wheel
by experimenting with paints, crayons, and other media, to create their
own versions of the color spectrum.

WEEK TWO: Project: TYE DYE Tee Shirts (Students will need to provide own shirt)
using the color wheel as their basis, students will learn to incorporate colors
into the fiber arts.

WEEK THREE: Project: Papermaking: Students will explore this alternative media
and learn about the role of paper-art creations.

WEEK FOUR: Project: Cartooning/graphic novels: Make your doodles into art!
This class will explore the history of cartoons and graphic novels. Students will develop
their own illustrated series and characters.

WEEK FIVE: Project: Abstract and Modern art: The art of Jackson Pollock, Paul Klee and
others will be the inspiration for the students own projects during this class. Various
media will be used!
