Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment

803 E. St. Louis (Greyhound)

Date of Report: April 1998
Assessment Funding:
Acres: 1.04

Site Background

At the time of the assessment, the current use for the property was for the Greyhound Lines, Inc. bus terminal. The terminal began operations around 1975 or 1976. Prior to construction of the bus terminal, the property was occupied by private homes.

Findings

The environmental assessment was completed according to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard E 1527-97.

The assessment revealed evidence of a recognized environmental condition. Since the terminal building was constructed before 1975, there is potential for the floor tiles and composition roof to contain asbestos materials. Prior to demolition of the terminal building, floor tiles and the composition roof should be tested to determine any asbestos content.
