City Weekly Events & City Beat
The week ahead kicks off with an open house about Community Improvement Districts and their accompanying sales tax instruments. The town hall-style meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Brentwood Branch Library. The meeting is being hosted by City Councilmen Nick Ibarra and Doug Burlison and State Representative Eric Burlison.
Tuesday's City Council lunch meeting will feature further discussion of a bill (Council Bill 2009-253) to change to composition of the Police-Fire Pension Board of Trustees. Most of the weekly lunch meetings are now being recorded by CityView and airing on Mediacom Channel 80 or digital channel 15.1.
The Commercial Street Task Force meets Wednesday evening, and the Planning & Zoning Commission holds its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday evening.
