The Finance Department consists of six divisions; Administration, Accounting, Budget
and Evaluation, Licensing, Printshop
and Purchasing.
The Accounting and Budget and Evaluation divisions of Finance
prepare the City Budget, Comprehensive
Annual Financial Report and a variety of other reports. The Accounting
division is also responsible for the City payroll, accounts payable and cash
receipts. The Licensing division issues a variety of licenses and permits
that are required to do business, sell to the public, or solicit funds in the
City of Springfield. The Purchasing division contracts for goods and
services for all departments, boards and agencies in the City of Springfield.
The Printshop does all in-house printing and mailing.
This City department also works with Springfield City Council and other departments
to coordinate financial services and project analysis.
Finance is often the first point of one-stop contact for citizens. Many services
are readily available just inside the main entrance door of the Busch Municipal
Building, 840 Boonville. Convenient off-street parking is available.
