Phil Broyles, P.E. -Assistant
Director of Public Works-Operations
Phil Broyles assumed the duties of Assistant Director -Operations in
July of 2000. The Operations area includes the Street Maintenance and General
Services Divisions. Within these two Divisions is the responsibility for
Maintaining and Operating the City's Streets, Rights-of-way, Buildings,
and Vehicles.
Broyles came to the City after a 30 year career with the Missouri Department
of Transportation (MoDot). Twenty of those years were spent in the Springfield
District office in several Maintenance and Operations positions. He also
served as District Engineer in the Northeast District in Hannibal, and
completed his career with MoDot in Jefferson City as the Director of
Operations over the state's activities in Maintenance, Construction,
Materials' Testing and Traffic Engineering.
Broyles holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from
the University of Missouri-Rolla and is a registered Professional Engineer.
He is a member of several professional and technical organizations including
the American Public Works Association (APWA), and the Transportation
Engineer's Association of Missouri (TEAM).
Steven A. Meyer, P.E. - Superintendant
of Street Operations
Meyer was employed by the City in November 1987, as Associate Engineer
in the Public Work's Engineering Department. Since being
employed by the City, Meyer has also worked in Sanitary Services Division,
the Solid Waste Division and currently in the Street Operations Division. In
his current position, Meyer is responsible for Street Maintenance, Bridge
and Waterway Maintenance, Street Sweeping, Right-of-way management, tree
management and Snow Removal. Meyer came to the City
after 12 years of Engineering experience that includes the Illinois Department
of Transportation, the Logan County Illinois Highway Department, a private
Construction Company and a Consulting Engineering Agency.
Meyer was born in Springfield, Missouri and attended Eugene Field Elementary
School, Pershing Jr. High School, Glendale High School, began his College Education
at Southwest Missouri State University and completed his College Education
by graduating from the University of Missouri at Rolla with a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Civil Engineering and is a licensed Engineer in Missouri, Illinois
and Florida. Meyer is a member of several professional and
technical organizations, including the American Public Works Association and
the American Society of Civil Engineering.
Kim Talbot -Administrative
Assistant
Kim was employed by the City in 2001. As Administrative Assistant
in Public Works - Operations, Kim's responsibilities include providing
information on Operations' areas of responsibilities and projects to a
variety of inquiring parties. Kim processes invoices, payroll, requisitions,
and handles the flow of information between the Operations' Administration
Office and field forces. Kim also works directly with the Municipal Facilities
Section preparing project contracts, as well as assisting other Sections
of Public Works Operations. |
