Duties
Performs firefighting, fire prevention, emergency medical services and rescue work; maintains and cleans Fire Department buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Requires - Minimum Qualifications
The following requirements must be met in order to participate in the written exam and the physical agility phases of the selection process:
- Age 18 or older;
- High School graduation or G.E.D.;
- No felony convictions;
- No serious misdemeanor convictions for the past five years;
- Vision requirements: Correctable to 20/30;
- Excellent physical condition.
Candidates must submit copies of supporting documentation that applicant possesses at least one of the following qualifications:
- Firefighter I & II (certificates) OR
- EMT-B (license) OR
- 36 hours accredited college hours (transcript) OR
- 2 years active military service with honorable discharge (DD214).

Additional Information
Candidates must attach a copy of their EMT-B license, Firefighter I & II certifications, college transcript or Military Form DD214 with application. Application packet must be complete. Candidates may attach a summary of additional licenses, certifications or registrations that they would like considered.

Salary
$15.54 Starting Hourly Wage during the 40-hour per week training period.
$11.10 Hourly Wage once assigned to the 24-hour work schedule. (The complete salary range for Firefighter is $11.10 - $16.99)
