Food and Environmental Lead Compliance

Program Overview

The food and environmental lead compliance office is responsible for issues inside the City of Springfield as well as in Greene County.

Services

The office provides the following services:

  • Inspect and regulate food establishments and processors
  • Investigate complaints dealing with food establishments
  • Inspect temporary and mobile food vendors
  • Investigate food-borne illness in conjuntion with epidemiology staff
  • Review blueprints to determine compliance with food codes for permitting
  • Assess facilities for lead risk
