WIC Program - Immunizations
Protecting your child's health is important. Keeping your child up to date on their immunizations is a key factor in keeping them healthy.
Immunizations required by the state of Missouri to enter public school are provided to children up to age 18, regardless of insurance status at the health department's Westside Public Health Center, located at 660 South Scenic. Call 417-874-1220 discuss your child's immunization status.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend the following vaccinations be given by age two. The recommended schedule for these vaccines is 2, 4, 6, 12 and 15 months of age.
- 4 doses of diptheria, tetanus and pertussis vaccine (DTaP)
- 3 or 4 doses of Haemophilus influenzae type b vaccine (Hib)
- 3 doses of polio vaccine
- 3 doses of hepatitis B vaccine
- 1 dose of measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMR)
- 1 dose of varicella vaccine (chickenpox)
