Where is WIC?

WIC is administered at the Jordan Valley Community Health Center in Springfield as well as several satellite locations.

WIC Satellite Locations

We have several satellite locations, but appointments are necessary by calling 417-851-1581.

Bad weather policy – In the event Springfield Public Schools cancels classes, all Springfield satellite clinics will be closed as well as the Parents as Teachers program, Itsy Bitsy Yoga, and Prenatal Yoga classes. During bad weather, always call first to see if we are open!

  Mary is the health department's WIC coordinator and has been with the department since 1998. Prior to accepting this positon she served as the department's health educator and the City of Springfield's Wellness @ Work coordinator. Mary has been teaching and working with groups and individuals to address a variety of health and community issues since 1981. Mary has master's degrees in Public Health and Adult Education.

  Julie has a Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition, Education and Psychology. She has been working for the WIC Program since 1989. She serves as the Senior Nutritionist/Lactation Consultant. In 2004 she became a board certified lactation consultant and enjoys helping moms learn how to feed their babies. Julie is a busy mother of four and feels very fortunate to be able to assist families in living healthier, happier lives.

  Tammy received her Master of Public Health in 2003. She has worked with the public in many capacities for a total of 22 years and feels privileged to be a part of the Springfield-Greene County Health Department team.

  Pam has been a nurse since 1976 years and spent 12 of those years as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She has experience working in hospitals, WIC clinics and colleges as a childbirth educator, Lactation Consultant and clinical instructor. Pam worked with WIC in St. Louis for 12 years as the Breastfeeding Coordinator and Lactation Consultant. She enjoys working with new moms who want to give their babies a healthy start in life.

  Becky holds a degree in Dietetics from Missouri State University, and has been a WIC Nutritionist since 1980. She returned to the WIC Program in 2008.

  Erin has a Bachelors of Science degree in Dietetics from Texas A&M University. She started working at WIC in May 2009. Erin previously worked with children with special needs and their families.

  Cassie graduated from Missouri State University in May 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics. Her previous work experience was in nursing homes. She started working at WIC in December 2007.

  Mindy is a registered, licensed dietitian in the state of Missouri. She graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in dietetics. She began working for WIC in May of 2009. Previously, Mindy worked as a dietitian for Hy-Vee. She enjoys sharing nutrition information and cooking tips with families at WIC.

  Lisa has a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from Missouri State University. She has worked for WIC since August 2005 and in other public health programs since 1999. Lisa believes that public health and preventive nutrition programs offer the best hope for a healthier future, and she enjoyes working with families.

  Joy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Food, Nutrition and Business. She also has an M.S. in Community Nutrition. She has been working for WIC since 2002. Joy has worked with other agency WIC Programs since 1990.

  Kelly is a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. She has worked for WIC office since October of 2006. She is currently attending college to get her degree in elementary education and is working toward being a lactation consultant. She feels all mothers can give their babies the best start by breastfeeding. She has four active children who keep her very busy, and she enjoys spending time with them.

  I have an Associate of Arts from OTC and a Bachelor of Science with a teaching certificate in Vocational Family and Consumer Sciences Education from Missouri State University. I have been with WIC since March 2008 as a breastfeeding peer counselor. I am passionate about supporting families, specifically, giving moms support to feed their babies. I have two boys and a wonderful husband who keep me smiling!

  My name is Christine and I have been working for WIC since January 2009. I really enjoy what I do and the people that I have helped. Before I took this job I worked at OACAC Head Start. I grew up in the suburbs of Kansas Ciy, KS, and moved to Springfield from Canon City, CO with my husband and daughter in 1984.

  Sandra Fanning has been with WIC since March 2009. She greatly enjoys helping the people in our community and surrounding counties. It is a very humbling experience on a daily basis. She lives in Republic with her three wonderful boys and husband Jerry. She worked as a receptionist for the City in Business License before coming to WIC.

  Jewell has worked for the City of Springfield for a total of nine years. She left for two years and came back as a member of WIC in 2002. Before working for WIC, Jewell worked at St. John's Hospital for a total of 11 years.

  Robin is native to Springfield. She is married to Bobby and has two daughters. She graduated from Willard High School. Robin was in direct sales for 25 years and worked as a receptionist before coming to WIC. She has been at WIC since April 2009.

  I have worked for the city for 23 years, five at 911 and eighteen at wic. Prior to that I worked at Southwestern Bell in communications. I have taken several courses at OTC but did not collect many credits, just adult education classes for my own benefit.

  Celestine has a Bachelors of Science Degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She began working for WIC in January 2010. Celestine has worked with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, as well as children in different healthcare and educational settings. Celestine has a passion for educating families and individuals about nutrition and loves to see them make informed choices and also help those around them do the same. She believes this will help them live the best life they could live.
