Jewell is the mother of three boys and has a brand new grandaughter. She has worked for the City of Springfield for a total of nine years. She left for two years and came back as a member of the health department's Women, Infants and Children (WIC) staff in 2002.
Before working at WIC, Jewell worked at St. John's Hospital for a total of 11 years. She says she really enjoys working at WIC.
