Before becoming a nurse, she was the office manager for a public television station in Missouri, a fire code inspector in Colorado and a weights and measures inspector in Nebraska. Karen loves her job at the Springfield-Greene County Health Department providing prenatal case management to high-risk women, giving immunizations and making presentations on various health topics, including the harmful effects of tobacco use.
