Child Care Provider Services
Program Overview
Quality child care can make all the difference in the life of a child. The staff at the Springfield-Greene County Health Department is committed to helping child care providers offer the best possible care to our community's children through a variety of programs and services.
Services
Health department staff provide the following services:
- Child care provider training and clock hours
- Children's health promotion programs. Nurses present child-friendly programs such as "Spike's Poison Prevention Adventure," "We Brush, Too!" and "Good Touch, Bad Touch" on-site at child care facilities to teach children to be safe and healthy.
- Child care health and safety consultation. Staff are committed to children in our community being safe and healthy while in child care. Staff are available by phone, in the office or on-site for child care providers and parents with health and safety questions or concerns. Consultation can be provided by our nursing staff, public health investigators and/or epidemiology specialists.
- Immunizations
- Obesity prevention and education
- Child abuse and neglect education
- Children's dental program
- Child care provider annual health fair. The 7th Annual Southwest Missouri Child Care Provider Health Conference will take place in October 2009. Details will be posted here.

Eligibility
Services are provided to Greene County child care providers at no cost. Some services are available only in Greene County.
