Program Overview . . .
The Health Education office works with public health colleagues, citizens and community organizations to call attention to important health issues, increase knowledge and foster a supportive environment for the prevention of disease as well as promote healthy lifestyles in order to improve community health.

Residents may request printed materials, attend classes, request presentations or seek referrals to community resources.

The Health Education office also manages and coordinates the City of Springfield's employee wellnes program.

Office Hours . . .
The Health Education office is located at 227 East Chestnut Expressway and is open Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Health Education staff is available as needed by request.

The Health Education office has been our close partner in a wide variety of health initiatives over the past several years.

From the establishment of a community obesity coalition to health education at major community events to new and exiting physical activity programs, the health department has been an integral part of the Park Board's committment to help those in our community realize the highest possible quality of life and leisure.

Public health is one of the most fundamentally important services in ours and every community.

We at the Springfield-Greene County Park Board look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with the health department and look ahead to undeniable success of our partnership in enhancing the overall health of our community.
