Immunizations
The Westside Public Health Center provides a number of vaccinations to children, adults, and travelers abroad.
Most children's vaccinations that are required for school are provided at no cost to you. Fees will be incurred for adult immunizations and travelers.
Child and Adolescent Vaccine Preventable Diseases
We provide vaccinations to children from birth through age 18 for the following vaccine preventable diseases:

Travel Vaccine Preventable Diseases for Children and Adults
Adults and children traveling outside the United States are recommended or required to receive certain immunizations. The Westside Public Health Center will provide appropriate vaccinations to individuals traveling outside of the United States. We will provide the consultation for free so you only pay for the actual vaccinations. The Westside Public Health Center is also a Yellow Fever Vaccination Clinic. For other locations, see the CDC's Yellow Fever Vaccination Clinic locator. Additional vaccine offered includes typhoid, polio, Hepatitis A, and Hepatitis B.

Leslie is a registered nurse who graduated from a nursing diploma program. She was employed for three years at St. John's Regional Health Center on a large medical-surgical floor. In addition she worked for the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) for more than 19 years. While employed with the VNA Leslie held several positions, including general nursing, intravenous team member and supervisor. Leslie has been at the Springfield-Greene County Health Department since June 1995. She is currently a Public Health Nurse and the Immunization Clinic Coordinator. - Ruth Brown, BSN, RN, Community Health Nurse

Ruth received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Truman State University in 2003. Prior to her work at the health department, Ruth worked as a staff nurse on a Maternal Newborn Care unit in a local hospital. Sherryl has been in the healthcare field off and on since 1988. She has been with the health department for three years.
