inBalance University

inBalance is proud to introduce this new series of monthly seminars on wellness topics hosted by area professionals.

Join us for our special May classes: "Simple and Delicious Cooking" - presented by Chef Chadwick Isom from HyVee

Want a fresh way to make over your diet? Then May is your month! You will have the opportunity to attend 4 different cooking sessions to learn about quick and easy ways to prepare a delicious meal.

Tuesday classes - Jordan Valley Kitchen (440 E. Tampa St.) Wednesday Classes - Police W. Central (216 W. Central) Thursday Classes - HyVee Demo Kitchen (1720 W. Battlefield Rd)

FOUR different classes to attend:

Session 1 - Fast and easy spring produce cooking! Saute fresh spring vegetables, wilted baby kale and bresh berries with chocolate fondue. 15 minute recipes, 5 ingredients or less with seasonal affordable produce.

Wednesday, May 7th, 9 - 10 a.m.

Thursday, May 8th, 3 - 4 p.m.

Session 2 - Building a healthy pantry and making fun snacks! Nuts, Hummus dip, Babaganoush eggplant dip and avocado dip, also easy oven roasted wild salmon.

Tuesday, May 13th - 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, May 14th, 9 - 10 a.m.

Thursday, May 15th, 3 - 4 p.m.

Session 3 - Fiber and Cooking with Whole Grain! Fun summer fresh produce and whole grain cooking like tabouli, quinoa vegetable pilaf, and polenta mushroom parmesan.

Tuesday, May 20th - 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, May 21st, 9 - 10 a.m.

Thursday, May 22nd, 3 - 4 p.m.

Session 4 - Controlling Carbs! Fun and fresh summer Mediterranean garden cooking mashed cauliflower, spaghetti squash and ratatouille!

Tuesday, May 27th - 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, May 28th, 9 - 10 a.m.

Thursday, May 29th, 3 - 4 p.m.

Weight Watchers at Work

Want some help from America's #1 weight loss program AND the support of your co-workers?

You’re invited to a 30 min Weight Watcher informational meeting on Wednesday, May 7th at Noon. Find out about the program, monthly pass, etools, and hear from some of our current WW@work members on how WW is, “the best investment you can make in yourself”!

If you’re thinking about your upcoming HRA and are nervous about your numbers or have come to the realization that summer is FINALLY right around the corner. Don’t be discouraged, get encouraged!! Yoga Classes

inBalance is excited to offer a FREE yoga class to all City of Springfield employees and their family members! All fitness levels are welcome. Classes are great for beginners, with challenging poses for the Advanced!

Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays, 6:00 to 7:00pm

Fire Station #1 at 720 East Grand, right across from MSU

Farm 2 Table Cooking Classes

The Farm 2 Table classes focus on healthy recipes made from fresh, local ingredients. These FREE Classes are held at the Jordan Valley Community Health Center, Classrooms 1 and 2, and children are welcome. Sponsored by Springfield Urban Agriculture Coalition and the Springfield-Greene County Health Department.

Wellness on Tour Digital Mammogram Bus

June 4 and 10 from 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. | Main Campus (840 Booneville Ave.)

The Wellness on Tour Mammogram Bus will be in front of the Busch Building on the main government campus offering mammograms.

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 to 12:45

This class is designed for all fitness levels and offers modifications to exercises to ensure everyone gets their own personal benefit. Please fill out waiver form and submit to Emily Hegg in the Health Department.
