inBalance is proud to introduce this new series of monthly seminars on wellness topics hosted by area professionals.

Join us for our April class: “Sleep Management - How to make the most out of your 40 winks” - presented by Kristie Dover, Mercy Sleep Disorders Center Coordinator Three opportunities to attend:

Thursday, April 3rd, 3 – 4 p.m. - Springfield Police/Fire Training Center (2620 W. Battlefield) *With special introduction by your City Manager, Greg Burris

Wednesday, April 9th, 9 - 10 a.m. – Police W Central- The Old Mill Building (216 W. Central)

City-Wide Walking Challenge!

Beginning April 8th at 8 a.m. | Challenge ends April 22nd at 5 p.m.

Back by popular demand! Here's another chance to gather your co-workers and walk your way to better health and BIG PRIZES!

Here's how to get started, but see Walking Challenge Details for all the information.

• Gather a walking team of up to 8 people.

• Decide to which division your team belongs (Are you FIELD workers or DESK workers?)

• Choose a team leader. Your team leader should REGISTER YOUR TEAM HERE

• Submit your participant registration fees. 100% will go to the American Heart Association's Heart Walk!

• Pass out your pedometers and START WALKING! Each team member should log their own steps. Follow this link to LOG YOUR STEPS!

The top two teams from each division will receive awards and bragging rights! All individuals who average more than 10,000 steps per day will also be recognized for their amazing effort. GET WALKING!

NEW Yoga Classes

inBalance is excited to offer a FREE 8-week yoga class to all City of Springfield employees and their family members! All fitness levels are welcome. Classes are great for beginners, with challenging poses for the Advanced!

Beginning Feb 10th - Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays, 6:00 to 7:00pm

Fire Station #1 at 720 East Grand, right across from MSU

Freedom from Smoking - Make a Plan to Quit

inBalance is offering an 8 week Freedom from Smoking and Smokeless Tobacco class for all City of Springfield employees and their family members. Classes begin Feb. 11 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. The cost is covered by inBalance.

Farm 2 Table Cooking Classes

The Farm 2 Table classes focus on healthy recipes made from fresh, local ingredients. These FREE Classes are held at the Jordan Valley Community Health Center, Classrooms 1 and 2, and children are welcome. Sponsored by Springfield Urban Agriculture Coalition and the Springfield-Greene County Health Department.

Weight Watchers at Work - Join Anytime!

This is a great time of year to get back in a healthy routine. Just a reminder; you can join the City of Springfield, Weight Watchers at Work program any week! We meet every Tuesday at Noon in the Environmental Services Building Community Room (290 E Central -at Central and Robberson). Your first meeting is always free, just come by! It could be the best lunch hour you have all week.

Wellness on Tour Digital Mammogram Bus

June 4 and 10 from 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. | Main Campus (840 Booneville Ave.)

The Wellness on Tour Mammogram Bus will be in front of the Busch Building on the main government campus offering mammograms.

CODE 3 Boot Camp - Class #4

Coming in April! Sponsored by the Springfield Fire Department

CODE 3 Boot Camp is an 8 week structured fitness boot camp designed to challenge employees of all ages and fitness levels. Class meets Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12 - 12:45 p.m.
