Definitions

Azumaya- a building given as a gift to Springfield from our "Sister City" of Isesaki, Japan.
Busch Building- named after Don Busch, a former City Manager where the City Government Administrative offices are.
City Hall- a historic building from 1894 where the City Council Chambers and Springfield/Greene County History Museum are.
City Manager- person appointed by City Council to the be Chief executive and administrative officer of the City.
DARE- an acronym for "Drug Abuse Resistance Education" taskforce headed by the Police Department.
Fire- department within the City that responds to emergency situations.
Mayor
ORION- an acronym for "Ozarks Regional Information On-line Network," it is a computer system that allows citizens to communicate to one another using their computers connected to phone lines.
Police- provide protection for the citizens of Springfield.
Recycle- an effort to beautify and save the environment by reusing certain materials, such as aluminum cans, plastic and paper.
