Recovery Projects
American Recovery & Reinvestment Act
The City of Springfield, MO has substantially amended its 2005-2009 Consolidated Plan and its 2008 Action Plan by adding a new program known as Community Development Block Grant – Recovery (CDBG-R), created under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act). As authorized under the Recovery Act, the Department of Housing and Urban Development will be granting the City $360,730. The City proposes to utilize the funding to reconstruct sidewalks in two CDBG-R eligible neighborhoods located in north Springfield.
Information may be obtained by contacting the Planning and Development Department at the Busch Municipal Building, 840 Boonville Avenue, Springfield, Missouri 65802, by calling (417)-864-1844, and in public libraries.
Amendment to CDBG-R Stimulus Program
A slight change has been made in the proposed location for sidewalk reconstruction under the federal stimulus program known as CDBG-Recovery. The amended locations are in the same eligible neighborhoods as previously approved. The change is necessary because some of the sidewalks previously programmed for funding through this program were reconstructed during this summer with local funding.
