The
following activities have taken place:

A seven-member delegation group traveled to Tlaquepaque in late March.
The group went on walking and driving tours, met with representatives
of business, culture, tourism and government, including the Mayor
of Tlaquepaque.

A delegation from Tlaquepaque visited Springfield in late May on a
fact-finding trip for the proposed Sister City relationship between
the two cities. Mayor Tom Carlson greeted the delegation group at
a welcoming ceremony. Following the ceremony, the group was taken
on a tour of the Municipal offices, Jordan Valley Park and the Creamery
Arts Center. The guests also were able to enjoy visits to Prime Trucking,
Springfield Underground, SMSU, the Springfield Farmers Market, Wonders
of Wildlife, the Springfield Art Museum, the Grupo Latinoamericano
office, and the Japanese Stroll Garden during its visit to Springfield.
