Rain, Rain Go Away!
This tip is a reminder that this is the season for lots of rain and inclement weather. Drivers should slow down to a prudent speed to drive safely on our highways.
In the last several months, I have seen many vehicle drivers not obeying a particular law. This law states that when you are driving and it’s foggy or raining hard enough to have to use your windshield wipers, you are now required to have your headlights on. Once thought of as just common sense, it is now a part of the law.
Remember the “old” section of law that has been around for several years is that your headlights are required to be on from one half hour before sunset to one half hour after sunrise. Lighted lamps shall also be required any time the weather conditions require usage of the motor vehicle’s windshield wipers to operate the vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.
Anytime visibility is reduced, please turn on your vehicle’s lights so that other drivers can more easily see you. Remember, being visible is an important part of avoiding accidents.
