Motorcycle Safety
With the arrival of nice summer weather, more and more motorcycles are out on the roadways. Drivers of cars and trucks need to take special care to look for motorcycles on the road. These drivers are looking for other cars and trucks and frequently don’t see the approaching motorcycle.
Often one-vehicle motorcycle accidents are caused by rider inexperience or carelessness. The Traffic Safety Alliance sponsors motorcycle rider classes for beginning and experienced riders. The beginning class is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge and skills for people who have never ridden, as well as those who have ridden up to 10,000 miles. This class, if successfully passed, can also be taken in lieu of the riding portion of the Department of Revenue license examination. The experienced rider course is intended for those who have considerable motorcycle riding experience. This course is primarily designed to increase your present skill level and develop a greater awareness of perceptual skills.
