Citizens Police Academy Application

The Springfield Police Department holds a Citizens Police Academy once a year. The CPA is an 11-week educational program that offers citizens the opportunity to learn about police policies, organizational structure, investigative processes, tactics, and the challenges involved in providing a safe community.

Classes are held one evening per week for approximately three hours. There is no cost for those attending the class. Enrollment is limited to approximately 25 persons in each academy.

Only residents who live inside the City limits of Springfield are eligible to attend. All applicants will have a background check conducted on them. All information submitted on this application will remain confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside of the Springfield Police Department.
