H.E.A.T.

The Handicapped Enforcement Action Team, or H.E.A.T., was founded in 1990 to assist police officers in the enforcement of handicapped parking. Members issue summonses for handicapped parking violations. They are provided with a police radio and a H.E.A.T. patrol vehicle. Members schedule their own time to work and usually work in teams of two.

If you are interested in becoming a H.E.A.T. volunteer, contact the H.E.A.T. Coordinator at 417-864-1351. All applicants must undergo a background check before selection.
