Floodplain Management

The City of Springfield is a participating community in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) administrated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

As part of the NFIP Cooperating Technical Partner program, the Stormwater Engineering Division completed remapping of the FEMA floodplains in the City. FEMA approved the new maps and the City's floodplain ordinance was revised in November 2010.
