The Library Center rain gardens at 4653 S. Campbell were a joint project by James River Basin Partnership, the Missouri Department of Conservation, and the Springfield-Greene County Library. These two rain gardens, completed in September 2006, were the first demonstration rain gardens in Springfield. The rain gardens are located on either side of the library's front entrance and collect runoff from the entrance rooftop.
