Counts & Crashes
The traffic engineering division conducts traffic counts to monitor traffic throughout the City. Various types of traffic counts are collected and analyzed, which include turning movement counts and traffic volume counts. Over 1,100 vehicular counts and over 40 turning movement counts are collected annually. Additionally, the division collects crash data for traffic studies.

The Public Works Department has released the September 2012 Crash Report Card for Crashes from January 1 through September 30. There have been 17 fatality crashes (killing 20 people) this year compared to 6 fatality crashes in the same time period in 2011. The number of total crashes has decreased by 3% and the number of injury crashes has decreased 6% respectively compared to the same period last year.
