Traffic Safety

The Traffic Engineering Division provides the following information and resources to improve traffic safety in Springfield.

School Safety

School Safety includes the Traffic Control Manual for School Crossing Protection and School Walking Route Maps for each elementary school in the Springfield R-12 School District.

Bike Safety

Bike Safety includes maps and safety information on how to use Springfield's more than 60 miles of streets designated as bike routes. Includes a map showing all bike routes.

Respect Red Campaign

The Respect Red Campaign aims to teach citizens about the dangers and consequences of running red lights.

Drive 25 Program

The Drive 25 Program helps reduce speeding on residential streets by allowing citizens to serve as models of safe driving.

Drive Responsibly Campaign

The Drive Responsibly Campaign teaches drivers about the risks of following other vehicles too closely, yielding improperly, speeding, and distractions.
