Sixty-five to graduate from Missouri Career Center/OTC MoWINs programs

More than 60 unemployed or underemployed individuals will have the opportunity to explore new careers, thanks to Missouri Workforce Innovation Networks (MoWINs) grant programs available through the Missouri Career Center and Ozarks Technical Community College.

Commencement exercises for the latest class of MoHealthWINs and MoManufacturingWINs graduates at OTC will take place at 10a.m., Friday, Dec. 13 at the Missouri Career Center, 2900 E. Sunshine.

Twelve will graduate from the hearing instrument science program; 10 from the building maintenance program; 14 from the machine tool technology program, 15 from the industrial maintenance technology program and 14 from the welding technology program. Some of the graduates will be available for interviews.

MoWINs is a Department of Labor grant-funded program to assist Trade Act participants as well as veterans, unemployed and underemployed individuals, and low-skilled persons in Missouri train in health sciences and manufacturing career pathways throughout the state. MoWINs funds are made available for qualified students under the U.S. Department of Labor's Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Grant Program (TAACCCT).
