Botanical Center presents Bridal Fair and Show Saturday, Jan. 18

Prospective brides and grooms are invited to learn about garden wedding and reception venues at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center's free Bridal Fair and Show Saturday, Jan. 18, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic Ave., is home to the Botanical Center as well as 26 themed gardens, many of which are ideal wedding spots.

"The romance of a garden, surrounded by flowers, is the perfect stage for proclaiming love," said Katie Steinhoff, coordinator of the Botanical Center. "For many couples, their wedding may be the first special event they have ever planned. The gardens are very affordable venues, and the Botanical Center allows indoor events and open catering."

The Bridal Fair and Show features the park's garden venues available for rent as well as cake decorators, stylists, photographers and other vendors specializing in weddings. Weather permitting, a guided tram tour will be offered at 3 p.m. to visit various gardens in the park.

Admission to the Bridal Fair and Show is free for guests. Vendor space is still available; booths start at $25 and must be reserved by Jan. 13.
