Group from SPD to take the plunge
A group of 29 members of the Springfield Police Department (SPD) plans to "plunge" into Table Rock Lake at Still Waters Resort in Branson this weekend in support of The Special Olympics Missouri. Participants will be walking, running or crawling into the frigid winter waters at 2 p.m. Saturday. They are required to raise at least $75 each before event day, and the fundraising goal for the event is $25,000. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics Missouri's year-round program of sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The Polar Plunge is a project of the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Missouri.
The SPD team includes the following members: Chief Paul Williams, Major Kirk Manlove, Captain Ben King, Sgt. Eric Reece, Corporal Chad Hampton, Officer Clint Coyan, Officer Jon Conklin, Officer Caleb Taylor, Officer Taylor Bolton, Officer Dak Henning, Officer Jason Holland, Officer Grant Selvey, Officer David Snider, Traffic Safety Officer Sheila High, Cadet Reece Conner, Cadet Jacy Snider, Cadet Joshua Wahl, Cadet Dalton Pennington, Francene Marchant, Cindy Leven, Tonya Toner, Brandy Osborne, Libby Harris, MaKayla Marchant, Anthony McElveen, Jan McElveen, Ashley Weaver, Wes Joy, and Joe Strehl.
