City, neighborhood associations sponsor spring clean-up events

Residents and/or property owners in several neighborhoods are invited to participate in upcoming neighborhood clean-up events. Download the schedule (pdf) for neighborhoods, dates, times, locations and materials accepted for disposal.

Electronics and household chemicals and paints will not be accepted at any of the clean-up events. Electronics are accepted at the Computer Recycling Center at 1434 N. National from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, no appointment necessary. Household chemicals and paints are accepted at the City's Household Chemical Collection Center at 1226 W. Nichols by appointment only. Call 864-2000 to make an appointment.

The City and the neighborhood associations encourage residents to take advantage of these free and convenient opportunities to dispose of trash, brush and leaves.

"We encourage neighbors to address overgrown fence rows, backyards and the alley adjacent to your property by mowing, cutting down, trimming and disposing of all brush and related debris," said City of Springfield Senior Planner Randall Whitman.
