SPD, GCSO release deceased suspect's name

The female suspect who died yesterday at 5431 W. Sunshine during an officer-involved shooting has been identified as Tracey Liniger, 50, of Springfield. Next of kin has been notified, and an autopsy will be conducted tomorrow.

Two males called 911 after being reportedly shot at by Liniger. When officers arrived, Liniger went inside the storage facility office and refused to exit. Upon exiting, she brandished her weapon and pointed it at officers. Officers Jason Bohannon and Marc Stevens of the SPD and Deputy Justin Adamson and Sergeant Robert Pounds of the GCSO fired at the female.

Bohannon and Stevens have been with the SPD for 11 and 13 years, respectively. Adamson has served with the GCSO for three years and had 11 years of law enforcement experience prior to that. Pounds is a 21-year veteran of the GCSO. All four are on paid administrative leave for the duration of the investigations.
