Gift of Time nomination deadline May 31

The "Gift of Time" luncheon celebrates volunteerism in the Ozarks with 10 nominees selected as the Volunteers of the Year. "The nominees exemplify volunteerism in our community," stated Mark Struckhoff, Executive Director of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks, "and this year will be no exception to the wonderful dedication and passion to serve."

This year, one of the 10 Volunteers of the Year will be awarded a $500 gift for their charity of choice. This new element to the luncheon, will further exemplify the importance of volunteers and the non-profits that work to improve the quality of life every day in the Ozarks.

The Rosanna Bradshaw Memorial Wall of Fame was established in 1994 to honor volunteers through the Gift of Time awards. Portraits of Gift of Time award recipients in the Rosanna Bradshaw Memorial Wall of Fame are on display in the Busch Building throughout the year. The Wall of Fame's namesake was an active volunteer in the Ozarks for many years and helped to create the Gift of Time program.

Nominations are accepted each year from area organizations and individuals to recognize outstanding volunteerism and this year’s deadline is Saturday, May 31, 2014. For more information or to nominate an outstanding volunteer visit www.springfieldmo.gov/giftoftime/
