Arrest in Property Damage Cases

The Springfield Police Department arrested Taphas Hall, 17- years old, of Springfield reference a string of property damage cases in the center city area. On Monday morning a patrol officer recognized the suspect near Parkview High School. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

It is alleged the suspect damaged property by spray painting buildings with black spray paint or white shoe polish or marker. The suspect would often leave the words KEY, BOBE/BORE or KSB on the structures.

Police believe the suspect was involved in as many as 22 incidents of property damage. Charges are pending in the case, and the investigation is continuing.
