Parks Offers Three Easter Events in April
The Springfield-Greene County Park Board will host three unique Easter events at Park Board facilities this April.
The 24th annual Park Board Easter Egg Hunt will take place from noon – 2 p.m., Saturday, Apr. 4, in Historic Doling Park, 301 E. Talmage St. Families with children two-years of age through nine are invited to participate in this free Easter egg hunt, beginning at 1 p.m. Bring your own egg-collecting basket. Enjoy free games, face painting and other activities, and meet the Easter Bunny beginning at noon. In case of inclement weather, all activities will take place inside Doling Family Center.
The inaugural Easter at the Farm, sponsored by U.S. Bank, will take place the following weekend at the Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park, 3825 West Farm Road 146. A variety of children’s activities will run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, Apr. 11.
- Hayrides for kids five-years of age and older with the Easter Bunny for $3 (under 5 are free);
- Free Easter-themed 8”x10” pictures, available for pickup at The Picture People in the Battlefield Mall after the event;
- Easter crafts for $2 and $.50 tattoos are available; and
- Easter Egg Hunt Times: 12:30 p.m. for 4, 5, & 6 year-olds; 2 p.m. for kids 7 – 9 years of age; 3 p.m. for 10-12 year-olds. A $2.50 hunt fee for all participants allows five eggs to be redeemed for prizes.
Finally, the Enrichment EGGstravaganza will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, Apr. 11, at the Dickerson Park Zoo, 1401 W. Norton Road. Guests are invited to watch zoo animals play with papier-mâché Easter eggs filled with treats that have been provided by zookeepers. General admission rates apply.
