South District Station Reduces Hours of Operation

Beginning April 1, 2009, the Springfield Police Department South District Station front counter (Records) hours of operation will be reduced to Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. The current hours of operation are from 7 A.M. to 11 P.M., seven days a week. Three records clerk positions are currently frozen because of the City’s budgetary shortfalls so this change will allow us to move some of the current clerks at the South District Station to the main Headquarters building to insure that maximum service is available at the main headquarters building.

Police Department headquarters; located at 321 E. Chestnut Expressway will continue to be open seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

There is a telephone outside the front door of the South District Station so that a citizen needing immediate assistance can call for help from the Communications Center.
