Transportation Development District Audit

The State Auditor’s Office has notified the City of Springfield that the College Station Transportation Development District will be included among this year’s annual audits of TDDs in Missouri.

Under RSMO 238.272, each Transportation Development District in Missouri is required to be audited at least once every three years. The College Station TDD was created in 2006, so this will be the first time it has been included in the audit cycle.

The TDD is a separate governmental jurisdiction, which the City and College Station developer Scott Tillman petitioned the Greene County Circuit Court to establish in 2006. The TDD levies a one-percent sales tax in the College Station development as one of several financing sources used for repayment of the College Station Car Park bonds.

The audit is expected to occur in mid-May.

Any questions about the audit should be referred to the Missouri State Auditor’s Office.
