Rain Forces Cancellation of Bike Month Kick-off

Ozark Greenways is regretfully cancelling the kick-off promotion downtown on the Springfield Public Square for “Bike, Bus, Walk to Work Week”, which was to be held from 6 – 9 p.m., tonight.

This cancellation does NOT affect tonight’s First Friday Artwalk or the weekend’s annual Artsfest on Historic Walnut Street.

There are, however, still nine Art Bikes designed by local artists displayed in nine downtown businesses in promotion of BBWW. Locations include: Nonna’s Italian Restaurant (Ozark Greenways’ favorite!); Good Girl Art; The Moxie Cinema (done by Rountree Elementary third graders); Staxx Boutique; Fresh Gallery; The Library location in the Square; Queen City Cycles; The Coffee Ethic; and the downtown YMCA location.

There is information on Ozark Greenways’ Web site about registering for the “Bike, Bus, Walk to Work Week” challenge, bike safety information, and maps of Springfield’s current alternative transportation options - including the on-street bike route system, the greenway trails, and bus route system.

Information is available at www.ozarkgreenways.org.
