City Participates in IDEA Expo Panel, Open House
City of Springfield Planning Director Ralph Rognstad will participate in this week's IDEA Exposition activities at a panel discussion and community open house on Wednesday, June 3.
Rognstad will join a panel discussion on “How Design Fosters Innovation and Entrepreneurship” from 2 to 3:30 p.m., at Brick City, 305 W. Mill St.
The IDEA Commons Community Open House will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Brick City.
Both sessions are free and open to the public.
Wednesday’s activities are part of the four-day IDEA Exposition sponsored by the Urban Districts Alliance, Missouri State University, and St. John’s Health System. Each day’s activities represent one aspect of the IDEA Commons – Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship and Arts.
The goals for the week’s activities include: expanding opportunities for business development and commercializing research; developing capacity for University partnerships; and focusing on the four IDEA areas where existing expertise can create synergies.
Other highlights of the week include tours of the Discovery Center; recognizing the entrepreneurs in the IDEA Commons and a number of activities tied into the Arts day with the First Friday Artwalk.
