New Tool Seeks to Reunite Owners with Missing Pets

In an ongoing effort to help reunite dogs with their owners, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department announces the launch of a new blog. At people can submit a brief description and a photograph of a pet missing or found in Greene County.

Dogs picked up by the health department's Animal Control Officers will not be posted on this blog, but can be viewed on the health department's website at Animal Control Officers will not monitor the blog or make an effort to match dogs posted on the blog. The health department encourages users to personally contact other users in order to match dogs with owners.

For the past few years the health department’s innovative programs have sought to increase the number of dogs that are successfully reunited with their owners or rescued for adoption. This blog supports that goal and will be an additional tool to help the health department in its efforts.
