Joint Council-Task Force Meeting August 5
The Police-Fire Pension Fund Citizens’ Task Force will make a full presentation on its work to date this summer at a special Springfield City Council meeting at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009.
The joint meeting will take place in City Council Chambers in Historic City Hall.
The Task Force will use Wednesday’s meeting as an opportunity to go into detail about its findings and draft recommendations regarding the pension fund shortfall. This meeting is open and citizens are invited to attend, but it will not be a public hearing.
The meeting will air live on the City’s government access channel on Mediacom 80 or 15.1. It also will air live on the City’s Web site at: www.springfieldmo.gov/cityview .
The meeting will re-air on Mediacom at 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7; 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 8; and 2:30 and 9 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 9. It also will be archived on the CityView Web site for Internet videostreaming.
At its regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 10, the Council is expected to consider a resolution to receive the Task Force’s report. A public hearing will take place at Monday’s meeting so citizens may sign up to speak about the resolution before or at Monday’s meeting.
The Citizens’ Task Force will hold its own Committee of the Whole meeting at 6 p.m., today, at the Busch Building 4th floor conference room.
