Borders Book Fair Benefits Zoo

“Book it” to Borders Books, 3300 South Glenstone, Sept. 10-15, for a book fair benefiting Dickerson Park Zoo.

When you present a book fair coupon, Borders Books will donate up to 25 percent of your regularly priced Borders purchases to Dickerson Park Zoo. Coupons are available at Borders, Dickerson Park Zoo’s admission gate or online at Proceeds from the book fair benefit the zoo’s education department and conservation education programs.

On Saturday, Sept. 12, zoo staff and volunteers will present animal programs hourly from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Members of the American Association of Zoo Keepers will also have a table set up at Borders on Sept. 12 to sell artwork created by the animals at the zoo.

Dickerson Park Zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission fees are $7 for adults and teenagers, $5 for seniors age 60 and older, $5 for children ages 3-12 and free for children age 2 and younger. Friends of the Zoo members are admitted free; FOZ memberships are $65 for an annual pass. For information about zoo events, visit <> or call 417-864-1800.
